Boston+Acumen

If you’re not familiar with Acumen, they’re an amazing organization that invests in social enterprise, focusing on scaling organizations, empowering social entrepreneurs and building ecosystems to support social enterprise. They’re one of the best.

I didn’t realise there were local chapters. It makes sense, given Acumen’s focus on growing ecosystems in the social enterprise space. And Acumen has a lot of pull, which helps its chapters bring local leaders together.

Today, I went to a conference held by the Boston chapter of Acumen. The speakers were excellent, the audience has an interesting mix of practitioners and the skill share breakouts were interesting; mine was a mix of design thinking and storytelling…perhaps ambitious for an hour. But the number of really smart folks working toward social impact is impressive. Events like this one help to give me even more energy.
