Arthritis Foundation

Recently, a good friend wrote to me, “in recognition of your birthday and in memory of your mom, I’ve donated $50 to the Arthritis Foundation. [His employer] will match this donation 100%.” I’m incredibly touched by the gesture, and by his remembrance of my mother, whom he had actually never met. She suffered from the debilitating effects of rheumatoid arthritis for over 40 years, with strength, defiance and never a compliant.
