Giving more thanks

Thanksgiving is about giving thanks and I used the day to send my thoughts of gratitude. Today, I sent a letter to Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker, as part of a Planned Parenthood of Massachusetts campaign, to thank him for signing the Contraceptive ACCESS bill into law. (To be sure, it was overwhelmingly passed by state lawmakers.) The law will ensure access to no copay birth control for women in Massachusetts.

Today, I also sent a letter of thanks to Planned Parenthood nurses, doctors, and other Planned Parenthood health center staff. Many work under tough conditions, not given the respect that health care workers should be given, because of political reasons. They deserve our thanks.
