More herring

Today, I did weekly shift at the Mystic Lakes Dam counting herring as they make their way upstream to spawn. I counted over 1,000 in my 10 minute shift! They were flying through the fish ladder faster than I could accurately count, to be sure.

Beautiful morning on the water and the swans were out.

Today, I took the afternoon off from work and watched the Joe Biden’s inauguration as the 46th president of the United States. It was the capstone that completed my journey to commit one civic act per day for four years. It’s something that I’ll never forget, just like Amanda Gorman at the ceremony today.
